Walter has completed further studies in a number of areas of general practice such as modern restorative techniques, rotary endodontics and minor oral surgery.
Since arriving in the Byron Shire in 2008 he has been proud to be part of a truly innovative and caring dental team and beautiful wider community.

Dr Robert Foster BDS(Syd) B.AppSc(Metallurgy) U.N.S.W
Robert graduated as a Metallurgist in 1974 from the University of NSW and worked for the Electrolytic Zinc Co. in Rosebey Tasmania. After 2years of this and playing bass in a local band, he took up full time study again, this time in dentistry, graduating in 1981 from the University of Sydney.
His immediate post graduate experience in dentistry was definitely unique – 9-5 in the United Dental Hospital where he had the great fortune of working with Dr Graham Craig (who was a very caring and forward thinking children’s dentist) and after hours at the only (at the time) 24 hour emergency Service in Sydney.
He and his wife Lea (also a dentist) started their own practice in Casino, Northern NSW and have worked there until recently.
During this time in private practice, Robert developed a strong interest in TMJ therapy, facial pain, sleep disorders and orthodontic s and attended many courses over 20years to become proficient in these very important compementary elements of holistic dentistry.
Robert and Lea have 2 adult children Rhys and Erin, and his interests outside dentistry and family are music, the Queenslander house that they have restored over their time in Casino and his budding collection of historic racing cars.
Robert also lectures in Materials at Griffith University where the compatibility of materials and the understanding of dental technology are the key issues taught. Also as part of his work at Griffith University, Robert is a clinic supervisor of the senior years and each year is responsible for a group of students participating in rural and remote experience at Brewarrina in Western NSW.
Dr Rohan Wijey B Oral H (Dent. Sci.), Grad. Dip Dent. (Griffith), O.M.
Dr Wijey has traded the bustle of Sydney for the beauty of Brunswick Heads. His keen interest in holistic dentistry extends to Myofunctional Orthodontics and TMJ treatment. Dr Wijey has completed training in the U.S. and Brazil in Orofacial Myology, and when not in the clinic he lectures to dentists and orthodontists around the world in Myofunctional Orthodontics. While he has a special interest in orthodontics and TMJ treatment, Dr Wijey continues to practise all types of general dentistry.
Away from the clinic, Dr Wijey can be seen running on beaches in the early hours of the morning, and meditating amidst plumes of incense.
Ms Rachel Hattley, BOralH (OHT)
We are proud to welcome Rachel Hattley to our practice. Rachel graduated from Griffith University on the Gold Coast as dual trained Oral Health Therapist and Dental Hygienist.
As a Dental Therapist she provides treatment (including fillings) to children and adolescents up to the age of 18. Childhood is a very important period in a person’s “dental life” and for this reason Rachel has a strong desire to provide children and parents with information about dental issues and help them change behaviours that may be destructive to the health of their mouth. Rachel’s friendly and sympatric manner will make your child’s dental experience a positive one.
As a Dental Hygienist, Rachel provides patients with dental hygiene treatment and information related to the prevention of diseases and disorders of the teeth and mouth.
